Allow Quoting and Purchasing

Our client would like our company to build their website with Konakart that allows a customer to ask for quotes for certain items but other items they can purchase and checkout as per usual. Some of their items are custom made and must be quoted, but other items can be purchased directly. Some items can be purchased (usually one off) and quoted (bulk orders).

I was hoping I could use separate baskets for each, but I did not find a way of doing this from reading the APIs and User Guide.

Can you suggest the best way we can handle quotes and purchasing at the same time using Konakart.
