To all,
So when I fire up my KonaKart instance and go to the main screen of the Admin application within 'My Store Status', I'm receiving an error screen in the bottom right corner saying "Unable to connect", however, I don't receive any errors in my Tomcat logs.
Any ideas?

Hi John,
When you say "bottom right" do you mean in the box where the graph goes at the bottom of the main panel?
If so, this is probably because the URL isn't defined correctly for your installation.
Have you checked this: http://www.konakart.com/reportingfaq.php#Displaying_a_different_report_on_the_status_page
Is localhost correct for you or should you use the real host name accessible from where you are??

Thank you so much for your prompt response. I managed to miss that post, mainly because this error was popping as soon as I ran KK from the start, so I wasn't sure what was supposed to be in this window :)
