Button Stretching

Hi

Can someone please shed some light on the wisdom of having fixed width and height
for the images in the JSP pages which results in ugly stretching should the standard
buttons be replaced by for example buttons created here
http://oscommerce.buttonsworkshop.com/.

Any resolutions to this besides the obvious ones of editing all the JSPs or creating all
the buttons with exact widths and heights would be most appreciated
